Dinner Ride Gar Wooly's August 2010
Davenport, OK

Hi All,
Well, Becky and I took the sissy way out to go on this dinner ride. Decided to go in a box, more comfortable, but not nearly as much fun.
We had 17 people in attendance. A total of five bikes, one trike, and four boxes. I'm sure the bikes had a hot ride.
A good restaurant if you have not been here, a bit of a drive for us anyway, but worth it. Good food and service. It seems we had a birthday girl in attendance, actually birthday was day before, hmmmm!!! wonder who that was? Someone just turned the BIG 50!!! Well, it's all downhill from here on out.
You missed a great evening of good food, friends, and fellowship if you missed this one.

August 15, 2010

Hi All,

This day was considerably cooler than the day before, dropped all the way down to 79 degrees on the way up there.  I and another chapter member opted not to leave from Shawnee Honda, mainly because it was out of our way.  We took Hwy. 66 all the way to Claremore, with the exception of a short distance going through Tulsa.  Had some wonderful directions from Frank at Chapter "P" the day before, many thanks to him.
The theme for this anniversary was Mexican Fiesta.  They had 155 people (according to announcement), 152 according to roster, either way had a lot of people there.  There were 9 people from our chapter, well 11 if you count Lloyd & Eileen, guess we will share them with chapter "S".  It was good to see Robin, District Director, there.
Had lots of Mexican food, you could make your own burritos and/or tacos, enchiladas, fixins for all these, chips, salsa, etc.  Again, we had the ever popular dessert table.  Don't know that I have been to a GW event that didn't have desserts.
They played some games, "Minute to Win It", pretty sure they had people trying to break open a Pinata.  One thing that was really great about this event is that it was inside an air conditioned building, a welcome treat after the day before.
All in all, had a great time with great friends and great food.  The ride home was a little warmer than the ride up there, even had a little bit of rain as we left Claremore.  It was still a pleasant ride home, nothing like the day before.  Pictures will be posted shortly.

Hi All,

Well, three words can describe this event, HOT! HOT! HOT!  You know what I am talking about if you were there.  There were 127 people there, 18 from our chapter, or at least that is the best I counted.  I know what you are thinking "Why does he have so much counting people" well, just don't make it a priority I guess, or at least that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

We still had a good time in spite of the heat.  There were some games played.  One in particular, I am at a loss of words for what to call it, it involved shaving cream and corn chips (photos online).  Next game was a water balloon toss, not sure if it was better to be the winner or loser, I am thinking on this day the water would feel pretty good.  Next game was the watermelon seed spitting contest.

The menu consisted of burgers and hot dogs and all the fixins, many salads and various other items.  Also, the ever popular dessert table, wonder why that is so popular with GW members, hmmm!!!  Then the ever popular watermelon feed.

We also had 50-50, contingency prizes.  We all had a good time, good food and fellowship, and the ever wonderfully HOT!!! ride home, well with the exception of those in a box.

Jimmy's Egg (Sponsor visit)

Great morning for a ride. Mostly bikes & trikes at this one, had a couple of cars.
A total of 19 people showed up for this, including some new people.
Really good breakfast items here and good service too. Glad they are one of our sponsors.
It seems one individual wore their reflective vest inside, guess they were expecting heavy traffic inside, LOL. Heard this same individual was gonna be directing traffic on Harrison Ave. when we left, don't remember seeing this person out there though. You can check out pictures online, pretty obvious who this person is.
Several people went to Shawnee Honda after eating. Becky & I stopped at Kmart, seems she had some birthday money that was burning a hole in her pocket. The majority of this group went to Chapter "J" Anniversary later.

Hi All,
Well, first let me apologize for taking so long to write this.
This was a hot evening for a dinner ride as evidenced by such few bikes in attendance.
I never did get a count on number of people there. I am gonna go out on a limb and say there were 25, could have been more or less, anyway quite a few people.
You missed a great night of food, friends, & fellowship if you missed this one.

Hi All,
Here is a link to a few photos from our July 2010 "B" Tech Day.

Well, let's just say if you missed this one, you really missed a treat.  We had some great homemade ice cream and numerous sweet treats to go with it.
We also had Mike Wierzbicki (from Shawnee Honda).  He is, I'm told one of the premier Honda Gold Wing mechanics around.  So if you needed help or had questions about anything Gold Wing, any year or model, you had a great opportunity to do so.  I know he helped a lot of people and answered a lot of questions.  We are very fortunate to have someone with his years of knowledge and expertise so close and willing to give up his Sunday to help us out.
Many thanks go out to Jim and Phyllis for the use of their shop building.  It is a very nice place to have our "B" tech days.  Jim, you gotta work on that air conditioning though, just kidding.  It was definitely hot, but the homemade ice cream made it seem not so hot.  Not sure whose idea homemade ice cream was, but three cheers to them.
